In April 2018, Dunnet Bay Distillery opened its new Visitor Centre.
The Visitor Centre is a VisitScotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction and a centre for food and drink, culture and heritage tourism located along the route of the North Coast 500 on the north coast of Scotland.In 2019, Dunnet Bay Distillery is launching an exhibition programme in its Visitor Centre.Dunnet Bay Distillery’s first exhibition will be called Inspired By Ginand we would love you to consider being a part of it.
We would like to exhibit a range of work Inspired By Gin from paintings, ceramics, textiles, glass, wood and much more.The theme of Inspired By Gin can be interpreted in a variety of different ways from the botanicals used to make Rock Rose Gin, to the landscape of Caithness or the history of gin.
Submitting an Application
The exhibition will take place from 2nd December 2019 to 31st March 2020.Artists should complete an Exhibition Submission Formif you would like to submit work for the Inspired By Gin exhibition.The deadline for submissions is 30th September 2019.Places are limited so preference will be given on a first come first served basis.If your work is selected for exhibition your artwork should be delivered to the Visitors Centre at Dunnet Bay Distillery by 18th November.However, feel free to contact us if you have any queries about submission and delivery dates, and we can work around you if necessary.
Submit a request to exhibit
All work must be a maximum of 75cms high and where possible must be for sale.Our commission rate is 35% and will be paid 4 weeks after the exhibition has closed to the public.
Every care will be taken with your artwork.The Visitors Centre is staffed Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm and is covered by CCTV.Out of hours the Visitors Centre is alarmed.However, whilst our insurance will cover any loss or damage to work that is being exhibited, we also urge artists to personally insure their own work where appropriate. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries about this, or specific guidelines for exhibiting your work.
There may also be opportunities for workshop delivery during the exhibition.Please state in the Comments section of the Exhibition Submission Formif you would be interested in delivering a workshop, the age group(s) the workshop would be suitable for and the cost of delivering the workshop.
Exhibition Open Day
An opening event will take place for the exhibition and is planned for 7-9pm on Friday 6th December 2019. The exhibition will be marketed extensively through social media and all appropriate platforms.
